The Brooks Film Society welcomes guest speaker Michael Deeley, Oscar-winning producer and former production chief for British Lion and EMI, to Brooks Institute’s Ventura Screening Room for a two-hour discussion on Tuesday, April 9, at 5:30 p.m.
Mr. Deeley ranks as one of the truly great international film producers, responsible for some of the most original and iconoclastic work in the history of film. His illustrious credits include Nicolas Roeg’s “Don’t Look Now” and “The Man Who Fell to Earth” (David Bowie), Sam Peckinpah’s “Convoy” and Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic “Blade Runner,” as well as the Oscar-winning “Deer Hunter” (which earned five awards, including Best Director and Best Picture).
A Blu-Ray screening of “Blade Runner” will commence at 3 p.m. in the screening room, followed by Mr. Deeley’s arrival at 5:30.
All students are encouraged to attend this event at the Ventura campus, 5301 N. Ventura Ave.
