On Wednesday, Jan. 16, the Brooks student chapter of ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) presents “My DAM Brain: Right Brain/Left Brain Opportunities in Today’s Marketplace” with Peter Krogh at the Brooks Institute Mason Street Studios (25 E. Mason Street, Santa Barbara).
Professional photographers – and anyone else working with photographs – bring right-brain creativity together with left-brain discipline. This combination is important for fulfilling your own creative vision and can be essential for finding employment in the industry. This presentation will explore how creativity and organizational skills are related and how your mastery of these can help lead to employment. Peter will also present a few case studies of young people who have leveraged asset management and other digital imaging skills to find jobs in a tough marketplace.
Peter Krogh is a photographer, author, lecturer, consultant and filmmaker who works for agencies, companies and organizations worldwide. He is author of “The DAM Book” and the director of ASMP’s Digital Standards and Practices Committee.
