Brooks Institute - About Stories Behind The Lens

About Stories Behind the Lens

Welcome to Stories Behind the Lens (BTL), Brooks Institute’s first in a series of new television and online interactive advertisements. This campaign aims to give you an “insider’s view” of the Brooks’ visual and media arts education experience as told by its students, faculty and alumni.

We hope you’ve checked out our new ad. If not, click on the “Play the TV Ad” icon now and launch this rockin’ spot. Meet our ‘up & coming’ celebrity photographer and recent Brooks’ graduate Hristo Shindov and watch as he photographs his Grammy-winning, rock star client for his new CD promotion.

We also invite you to explore this site to learn more about the cast and crew, who together created the Stories Behind the Lens web site and TV spot. Click on the "Profiles" page and you can discover how each of Brooks’ four degree programs: Graphic Design, Visual Journalism, Professional Photography and Film and Video Production actually function collaboratively to create a single campaign such as BTL.

So whether your interest and passion is in filmmaking, design, photo journalism or photography, it’s very likely you’ll work as a team with ALL of these disciplines and professionals on many creative projects throughout your training and career.

In fact, on the BTL project, our Visual Journalism student documented the Professional Photographer shooting the rock star/client. Meanwhile, the Film & Video Production student filmed the whole photo shoot to provide footage for use on the television commercial and on the web site that our Visual Communication student helped to design.

We’re extremely proud of our new series: Stories Behind the Lens and we hope you will enjoy it too. If you like this site and especially if you like the commercial, we invite you to share this link with friends and family. We think you’ll agree these are the real stories behind the lens.
