State Aid Programs
California residents who attend Brooks Institute have a state financial aid option called the Cal Grant available to them in addition to federal student aid program funds.
Cal Grant funds are awarded by the state of California to undergraduate students who are California residents and pursuing their first bachelor’s degree at an approved institution. Each year, recipients for Cal Grant A and Cal Grant B are selected by the California Student Aid Commission on the basis of financial need and grade point average.
Unlike loans, the Cal Grant usually does not need to be paid back. The funding for Cal Grant awards is limited, so those interested should apply as soon as possible. As with other forms of aid, application for this grant begins by filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
This grant is not available in the 2013 academic year starting July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014.
