Student Services - Housing
Deciding where you will live for the duration of your studies involves many important decisions. Brooks Institute recommends that you secure your housing prior to arriving at school to prevent distractions and ensure you are ready to begin your courses. Brooks Institute works in conjunction with RnR Real Estate Marketing, LLC, and Off- Campus Housing 101. With either choice we encourage you to take care of your housing well in advance. Please review the list of features, advantages, and disadvantages of each option before you make your decision. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact your Admissions Representative.

  • Current and prospective students have world-wide access to listings via the Internet to access a large real-time database of student housing vacancies in the area of the school
  • Roommate Finder for Brooks Institute students to assist in finding a roommate with similar interest and housing requirements.
  • Listings provide students considerable information about available housing, including photos and text, extended contact information and property features.
  • Choose the type and location of your apartment
  • Landlords require a credit check and may require a co-signer for your lease
  • Live alone or choose your own roommate(s)
  • Utilities are not always included
  • Almost all apartments are unfurnished; you will need to supply all furnishings
  • If a roommate unexpectedly leaves, you are responsible for the entire rent until the termination of the lease or until you can get another roommate
  • You may have greater "independence". You may not have to follow as many rules as you would have to under the terms of the RnR housing agency. Each apartment landlord or property management firm has different rules and conditions for residents
  • You will have a greater sense of responsibility. You must pay all monthly bills (utilities, etc.)
  • You may experience a greater sense of "isolation". If you live on your own, you may not be as involved with campus activities as you would if you lived with other BI students. This could cause you to feel a sense of detachment with your overall school experience.
  • RnR facilitates any apartment related problems; if you have an apartment on your own, you will need to work with your landlord or the property management firm that operates your apartment.
  • You can choose an apartment based on the length of lease you want (month-to-month six-month, one-year, etc.)
