Brooks Institute Student Government
The Brooks Institute Student Council (BISC) is a student advocacy organization that offers students a voice in the everyday operations, policies and procedures of campus life. Two-way communication between faculty, staff, and students is encouraged. The organization’s focus is to improve the educational and social experience for all students at Brooks Institute. Elected students from our Santa Barbara and Ventura campuses facilitate the organization.
In addition, the BISC helps coordinate a variety of activities on campus providing support for extracurricular programs, activities, events, and professional development. Among these is Brooks Unplugged, an annual event where students, staff and faculty can connect in a social atmosphere at a community park.
Let your voice be heard.
Students are encouraged to attend the BISC’s Open Forum meetings, held at each campus during the beginning weeks of each semester. At these meetings, the student body gathers to openly share concerns and offer new ways to improve their experience at Brooks Institute to those administrators chosen by the students to attend. The president of Brooks Institute also attends at the invitation of the BISC.
