Four students from Brooks Institute's Visual Journalism program recently participated in the prestigious Eddie Adams 25th Anniversary Barnstorm Workshop (EAW).
Congratulations to Karen Farfan, Christen Minnick, Aaron Schmidt and Joshua Valcarcel, who attended the EAW for an intense four-day gathering Oct. 5-9, networking with top photojournalism professionals. Fifty emerging professionals with less than three years’ experience and 50 students were chosen internationally to attend based on the merit of their portfolios.
Gail Fisher, department chair of Brooks’ School of Film | Communication, also participated as part of the EAW staff, editing student portfolios throughout the weekend during late-night reviews. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the sought-after workshop, which was founded by Pulitzer Prize photographer Eddie Adams. Adams’ workshop has built a strong network of alumni, including some of the top photographers and editors in the world.
