Brooks Presents Four-Time Picture of the Year Award-Winning Photographer
Adobe-sponsored Program with Colin Finlay is Free to the Public

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- (September 1, 2006) – Brooks Institute invites the public to see and hear about the award-winning work of renowned photographer Colin Finlay at a free program on Friday, September 15, from 7-9 p.m., at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort, 633 E. Cabrillo Blvd., in Santa Barbara. Reservations are not required.

The program is part of a nationwide tour sponsored by Adobe to nurture photography education and the use of new technologies. In addition to the public, educators and students are encouraged to attend this seminar featuring Finlay talking about his career as a photographer, including his commercial work and documentation of social issues. Finlay, one of the foremost documentary photographers in the world, is a four-time Picture of the Year Award winner. His visual work also allows him to work behind the video camera, and in 2000, he was part of an Emmy award-winning team that produced the Fox documentary entitled Black vs. Brown: When Colors Collide, examining interracial tensions between teenagers in Los Angeles. He has, personally, twice been nominated for Emmy awards.
