NICK DEKKER, RETROSPECTIVE: BROOKS ALUMNUS ADDED TO DECEMBER FIRST THURSDAY GALLERY RECEPTION AND EXHIBITION
Santa Barbara, Calif. - (November 20, 2007) - Brooks Institute announced today it’s just added the "Nick Dekker, Restrospective", by alumnus Nicholas (Nick) Dekker, to its First Thursday gallery exhibition and public reception on Thursday, December 6, 2007 from 5 – 8 PM to be held at the Brooks Institute Cota Street Gallery located at 27 E. Cota in downtown Santa Barbara.
Dekker, who’ll be displaying a career retrospective of his fine art images, is a noted international Fine Art Photographer, and Salon Exhibitor whose commercial, illustration and advertising photography career spans more than 50 years. He has traveled and exhibited worldwide, including trips to Korea and Japan as an educator and lecturer on photographic techniques, and his images have been published in educational textbooks, journals, and magazines domestically and internationally. Dekker’s is also a specialist on pre-modern alternative photographic processes, including concentration in Platinum/Palladium printing.
The "Nick Dekker, Retrospective" opens December 6, 2007 and runs through January 8, 2008.
About the Student Holiday Print Sale
The Brooks Institute 4th Annual Student Holiday Print Sale opens November 24, 2007 with a public reception and sale held on December 6, 2007 during the Downtown Organization’s First Thursday event. This event provides the local community a chance to view and purchase juried photographic images graphic designs from current Brooks Institute students. These "up and coming" artists will be displaying a variety and visual and media art projects that are framed and priced between $50 and $275. All proceeds go directly to the student artists. All Student Holiday Print Sale transactions will be facilitated by the Brooks Institute bookstore, located on the first floor of the Cota Gallery building.
