BROOKS INSTITUTE OFFERS CERTIFICATE DIGITAL CINEMA
Brooks Institute’s Latest Program Offering is open for March Enrollment

VENTURA, CA (January 15, 2010) – Brooks Institute unveils its certificate program in Digital Cinema and has begun enrolling students to start in March of 2010. This 24-credit course is designed to be completed in four sessions over 32 weeks, preparing students for careers in the film industry, specifically the production and post-production fields. Students in this program will gain knowledge of software and digital video editing while also exploring emerging digital camera systems such as the Red One and high definition, broadcast-quality computer video editing systems.

"The Digital Cinema Certificate program is an immersion into cinematography and post production (editing) building on the traditions and academic excellence of our film program and our current BFA," said Film Program Director Glynn Beard. "It does not surpass the BFA in film but rather offers a unique opportunity for an individual to become skilled in the areas of cinematography and editing in a period of eight months."

Graduates of this certificate program are meant to be trained for the new technologies in digital video cameras and computer video editing systems all the way through the delivery of a master. This program emphasizes digital workflow as well as the skills required to become an HD specialist and colorist.

This program is open to professionals looking to expand in their field and high school graduates ready to get a taste of what the film industry has to offer. All classes from the Digital Cinema certificate program are transferable into the BFA program if a student would wish to continue his/her studies.
