Brooks Institute is proud to generously support the Yellow Ribbon Program

If you served in the military after 9/11, you might be eligible to receive benefits under the new Post-9/11 GI Bill!

Just like Brooks experienced in the late-1940s and early-1950s with the passage of the GI Bill that followed World War II, Brooks Institute is ready to help today’s veterans pursue their dream of a career in one of the visual arts. Now, it’s more attainable than even. Brooks Institute is participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program under the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

Our military has served our country and protected our freedom.

Now is the time for you to take on your future.

Now is the time to let your creativity out.

Now is the time to transform your imagination into something innovative.

Whether it’s photography, film, visual journalism or graphic design, Brooks Institute is ready to help turn today’s military and veterans into tomorrow’s next great visual artists. Brooks Institute is excited about the opportunity to give something back to the soldiers and veterans who have given all of us so much.

Brooks Institute generously supports the Yellow Ribbon Program, a program intended to help narrow the gap between the Post 9/11 GI Bill and the cost of an education. Our participation in the program can help make Brooks Institute affordable for eligible veterans to earn a degree.

Tuition Benefits. Under the Post-9/11 GI Bill, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will pay tuition and fees benefits up to each state’s highest public undergraduate tuition per credit hour and fees per term. In the state of California, eligible veterans will receive up to $287 per credit hour (based on eligibility tier) for classes taken at approved institutions of higher learning. Brooks Institute continues to demonstrate its commitment to the support of our military population through its participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program. For veterans who are 100% eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill, Brooks Institute will provide contributions, through the Yellow Ribbon Program, in the form of an institutional grant of up to $4,525 per year for tuition and fees that exceed the CA in-state maximum. The VA will match this contribution, thus providing up to $9,050 for eligible veterans and ensuring military students have the opportunity to obtain an affordable degree from a premier institution.

Housing Allowance. Eligible veterans will receive a monthly housing allowance of up to $1,800 per month, whether for attending the Santa Barbara or Ventura campus.

Books and Supplies Allowance. Eligible veterans will also receive an annual stipend of up to $1,000 per year for books and supplies.

Overall, this new program provides veterans with an attractive financial benefit package to attend Brooks Institute and obtain a degree in professional photography, film, visual journalism or graphic design.

Military training stresses attention to detail – ideal preparation for the kinds of programs we offer at Brooks Institute.
