Joanne A. Calitri is an international photographer of performing arts and documentary photography. She is also a news reporter and photojournalist for almost a decade. In front of her lens are world-class musicians, entertainment celebrities, Foreign and Domestic Defense Officers, Politicians and man in his world. Her work emulates "mod era" European photographers Edward Steichen and Henri Cartier-Bresson.
Joanne has photographed Aerosmith, Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Ravi Shankar, Carlos Santana, Stevie Nicks, Leann Rimes, Mstislav Rostropovich, Esa Pekka Salonen, film celebrities, General P.X. Kelly USMC (Ret), Secretary of the US Navy Gordon R. England, Former First Lady Nancy Reagan, US SS Special Agent to President Reagan John Barletta, Ty Warner, The Dublin Lord Mayor of Ireland, Sir John Leslie of England, Baroness Lenis Fe Bland and technical images for Shell Oil and Conoco Phillips.
Joanne joined the faculty at Brooks Institute, Professional Photography in 2002, teaches 5 different photo classes and is a Thesis Advisor in the MFA program. Joanne places her Internship students with photographers in LA, London, NYC and Cape Town, South Africa.
