I am presently teaching a course in Social Psychology, which examines how society influences how people think, feel, believe and behave by the actual, imagined and implied presence of other persons. My hope for the course is that it will broaden the horizons of my students to understand the interconnectedness of people and societies as they prepare for professions in communications. Although I rely on standard social psychological concepts, the operative text for the course is the news of the day as reported in various news outlets. My background, prior to coming to Brooks was as a program administrator and as an Attorney Advisor in the U. S. Department of Labor. As a native New Yorker most of my formal education was in local schools, although my training in psychology was in Virginia, during my stint in the Federal government.
