Glynn Beard is the Program Director of Film at Brooks Institute and has been teaching at Brooks Institute since 1994. He is an independent filmmaker who wrote, produced and directed the feature films Murdered (1992) and The Crier (1994). Murdered premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in 1993 and was screened at the Angelika Film Theatre in New York for the Independent Feature Film Market in 1994. The Crier is currently in distribution with EI Cinema in New York for U.S. domestic video distribution and has been sold to overseas cable markets. In addition to producing and directing his own feature films he has freelanced on various film and video projects, specializing as an editor on projects for outside clients. He is currently working on the award winning series of short films titled ‘Ocean of Storms’, SUCCESS (2003), SON (2004), EXIT (2006), FRANK (2008) and MOTHER (2009). The ‘Ocean of Storms’ films have played at the Annual Utah Short Film and Video festival (2004), the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival (2004, 2005, 2006), the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (2005, 2006), the Ventura Film Festival (2005), the Toronto ReelHeART International film festival (2006), the Brooklyn Independent Cinema Series (2006) and the Lake County Film Festival (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010). SON was awarded best short film at the Lake County Festival in 2006 and won second place for best short film at the ReelHeART International Film Festival in 2006.
