BRIAN PRICE optioned his first screenplay, “The Many Lives of Bobby Ivers” to Universal Pictures while still a student in UCLA’s MFA in Screenwriting Program. Since then, he’s adapted “The Speed Queen” for Christina Ricci’s Blaspheme Films, rewritten the features “Stepmothers” for Chris Knight Productions, “Pamela West” and “Atticus” for Adam Deldeo of Endgame Entertainment, and optioned his script “A Brief History of Tim” to River’s Edge Entertainment. Recently, his screenplay “Whale Farts” won first place in the prestigious Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Competition.
In addition to writing, Brian directed the award-winning feature “Bottomfeeders” which won the DC Independent Film Festival Audience Award and Frank Kapra Award, the Indie Spirit Award in Toronto, and was an official selection at the Sarasota, Palm Springs, Philadelphia, and New York Independent film festivals. He also directs television commercials, public service announcements, and political ads.
Brian is the primary screenwriting teacher at Brooks, where he teaches both the beginning and advanced classes in the BFA Program, and was instrumental in the design and execution of the new Master’s Program in Screenwriting, in which he teaches many of the core classes and helps oversee the program as a whole. In addition, Brian continues to teach in the MFA and Professional Screenwriting Programs at UCLA.
Brian received his Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and Film from Yale University and his Master’s from UCLA, where he was a recipient of the Herve Bennett Award, the Eydie Gorme Award, the UCLA Screenwriter’s Showcase, and was a Nichol’s Fellowship Finalist. He is a member of the Writer’s Guild of America, the Screen Actor’s Guild, and Actor’s Equity Association.
