Alison Nigh produced and directed the 1986 Academy Award Nominated documentary, DEBONAIR DANCERS. The film, narrated by Jack Lemmon, has received numerous honors including a CINE Golden Eagle, and a Dore Schary Humanitarian Award. The film has also had prime-time presentation on PBS affiliates in both Los Angeles (KCET) and San Francisco (KQED), as well as screening in a variety of international film festivals such as the San Francisco International Film Festival, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and the PIA Film Festival (Japan). She earned her MFA as a Directing Fellow at the American Film Institute, where she produced and directed HER FATHER’S EYES, a narrative film that was awarded a CINE Golden Eagle and has been broadcast on the Arts and Entertainment (A&E) cable channel. She is an honor graduate from Brooks Institute of Photography, receiving a B.A. in Motion Picture Production. She won a third CINE Golden Eagle for a dramatic short she directed for Disney Educational Films. Her screenwriting credits include “Out There” (co-writer) which has been broadcast on ShowTime and stars Billy Campbell with Billy Bob Thornton and Rod Steiger, and "Noone Hour", commissioned by Disney/Hollywood Pictures. Nigh co-produced and directed THE CLOWN WITHIN, a documentary narrated by Jonathan Winters and has served as director, acting coach, and guest playwright production dramaturge for theatrical productions. Currently, Nigh is Director, Co-Writer, and Co-Producer for Fun in a Kilt productions, a short film series. Nigh has taught Screenwriting, Directing and Acting in the Motion Picture Department at Brooks Institute since 1996.
