Don French earned his BA in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1970 and an Individualized MA in Creative Writing from Antioch University, Yellow Springs, Ohio in 2003.
As owner of French & Associates, Don has provided marketing consultation and expertise in design of logos, brand identity, books, annual reports, corporate collateral, way finding systems, marketing materials, and publications for more than 30 years.
He has also worked in radio and as an audio news producer for the Associated Press. Awards include a Gold Medal for book design from the Independent Book Publishers Association in 2009, a Silver Medal at the PubWest Book Design Awards in 2011, and National Finalist for the Ben Franklin Awards in 2011. He has had logos published in American Corporate Identity Annual.
Don has taught at Brooks Institute for over 25 years, taking over as Program Chair of Graphic Design in 2012. His area of expertise is Visual Design, Publication Design, Identity and Branding, History of Design, Visual Storytelling, and Typography, and Prepress. www.don-french.com/
