Diane Auer-Jones

Diane Auer-Jones

Diane Auer-Jones is Vice President for External and Regulatory Affairs for Career Education Corporation (CEC) and President of the Career Education Scholarship Fund (CESF). Prior to joining CEC, Diane served as the Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education. She also held key policy roles at the White House, on Capitol Hill and at the National Science Foundation (NSF), having served as the Deputy to the Associate Director for Science at the Office of Science and Technology Policy, as a Professional Staffer and Acting Staff Director for the Research Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, and as a Program Director in the Education and Human Resources Directorate at NSF. Jeffrey Burke (Chair)

Jeffrey Burke is an artist, former advertising photographer and commercial director. He previously served as the CEO of PictureArts Corp, President of the Picture Archive Council of America and was the co-founder and chair of the PLUS Coalition. Back To Top

Rich Clarkson

Rich Clarkson

Rich Clarkson is the principal at publishing company Rich Clarkson & Assoc. He is an award-winning sports photographer and past president of the National Press Photographers Association. After a career in magazine and newspaper photojournalism as administrator, editor and photographer, Rich Clarkson founded his Denver-based company in 1987 for the creation and management of unique projects based in various uses of fine photography. Named by American Photo magazine as one of the 50 most influential individuals in American photography, Clarkson’s career includes stints as director of photography and senior assistant editor of the National Geographic Society, assistant managing editor of The Denver Post, director of photography of The Topeka (Ks.) Capital-Journal and as contract/contributing photographer to Sports Illustrated. His Denver-based company does all the photography of the 89 national championships of the National Collegiate Athletic Association for whom they also produce exhibitions and books, all the original photography for the Colorado Rockies baseball team. Susan Kirkman

Susan Kirkman

Susan Kirkman is the President of Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara/Ventura, California. Prior to her arrival at Brooks Institute, she served as the Vice President of Academics Affairs and Dean of Education for 10 years at Harrington College of Design in Chicago. Sue has extensive experience in academic affairs, including strategic planning, curriculum assessment, faculty development, student relations and advising, diversity, retention and placement. Lynn Martin

Lynn Martin is an accomplished photo industry executive. She has worked as a vice president at The Image Bank, PictureArts Corp and JupiterMedia Corp.; was the founding executive director of the Young Photographers Alliance; and has served on the boards of several trade associations. Back To Top

Gene Mopsik

Gene Mopsik

Gene Mopsik is the Executive Director of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP). Eugene has a long and distinguished record with the American Society of Media Photographers and has led the organization as its Executive Director since 2003. A prominent advocate for the rights of photographers and other visual artists, the ASMP is a leader in current issues such as copyright registration of images, social media terms of service, Orphan Works and the exploration of new business models. Gene currently serves on the boards of the Brooks Institute, the Eddie Adams Workshop and the PLUS (Picture Licensing Universal System) Coalition and is on the Advisory Board of the Young Photographers Alliance (YPA). Mark Oliver

Mark Oliver is President and Creative Director of MOI (Mark Oliver Inc.), a full-service brand consultancy. The firm specializes in food and beverage marketing, branding, and packaging design as well as strategic identity and branding programs for firms nationwide. MOI was a pioneer in the use of emotion-generating visual cues in packaging design and has been a recipient of more than 450 awards from major design organizations and publications. Examples of the firm’s work are included in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress. Back To Top

Jody Persky

Jody Persky

Jody Persky is the VP of Brand Marketing for Art & Design and Health at Career Education Corporation (CEC). Jody earned her BS in Marketing from Northern Illinois University and her MBA from the New York Institute of Technology with a Specialization in Marketing in 2005. Prior to her current position Jody was a Brand Marketing Director at Career Education from 2007 through 2013 and has been in the marketing industry at companies including GE Financial Assurance and Discover Financial Services since 1997. Frederick Van Johnson

Frederick Van Johnson

Frederick Van Johnson is a photographer, a marketer, and speaker. He began his career as a Combat Photojournalist in the United States Air Force, where he served for 8 years, and was decorated many times for his photography in the field. His unit was among the first in the US Armed Forces to receive digital SLR technology, and put it into daily action.

He was awarded the prestigious United States Air Force Commendation medal for his key role in facilitating the transition from film-based photography to digital. And after separating from the military, Frederick went on to drive marketing for the top companies in the Silicon Valley including Apple, Adobe, Yahoo, and AOL.

He is founder & CEO of MediaBytes — an online marketing school for photographers, and he is the host of This Week in Photography (TWiP), one of the world’s most popular, and longest running photography podcasts.

Frederick lectures, conducts workshops and Meetups on topics including marketing, business, as well as photography.

Frederick attended the University of California at Santa Barbara while serving on active duty at Vandenberg AFB, CA. Back To Top
